    PBJ smoothi

The best PBJ smoothie without the bread is a favorite for all. It is a healthy shake that has blueberries, peanut butter, banana, and more to help your body get the nutrients it needs without sacrificing flavor. The Irish twins love having it for breakfast before they head off to school. It only takes a few minutes to make, and we all have a healthy shake to enjoy before our day begins.

Is it healthy to have a smoothie for breakfast?

Smoothies can make a very healthy breakfast—it’s all about the ingredients and keeping reasonable portions. When looking for a healthy breakfast smoothie, try to find one that’s low in sugar and high in protein, fiber, and healthy fats so you stay full for longer.

Can a smoothie be a meal replacement?

Yes, they often have more Fiber which will keep you full for longer, plus you can blend satiating ingredients that increase the nutritional value.

You must be careful of the sugar content though as some smoothies that use fruit juice add unnecessary sugars which can cause blood sugar to spike. This can result in a crash mid-morning as your sugar levels decrease.

This means a smoothie makes a much more substantial and filling meal for a person on the run or doesn't have the time to sit and enjoy fresh fruit before starting there day.

Is a smoothie for breakfast good for weight loss?

Filling breakfast smoothies that are high in protein and low in calories can be good for weight loss. Choosing hearty breakfast smoothies will help make sure you aren’t starving by mid-morning and can prevent snacking.

Note: For more information or specific recommendations for your own diet, please contact a nutritionist or your doctor.
