Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and sugars in a small bowl. Beat butter, vanilla extract, and eggs in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Then combine together.
Stir in morsels and candy canes.
Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
You can add more candy canes if you would like a more peppermint taste, but this made them not overpowering with just the right amount we felt like.
