Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies

An amazing double chocolate cookie with cocoa, chocolate chips, and candy canes that is super satisfying with a cup of milk.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¼ c all-purpose flour
  • ½ c Baking cocoa
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 c butter 2 sticks softened
  • 1 c packed brown sugar
  • ¾ c granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 c semi-sweet chocolate morsels or a 12-oz pkg
  • 6 regular size candy canes

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 375° F
  • Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and sugars in a small bowl. Beat butter, vanilla extract, and eggs in a large mixing bowl until creamy. Then combine together.
  • Stir in morsels and candy canes.
  • Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

You can add more candy canes if you would like a more peppermint taste, but this made them not overpowering with just the right amount we felt like.
